• Remove any leaves that would sit below the waterline, as they rot and breed bacteria

• Never place the bouquet next to a fruit bowl, as ripening fruit releases ethylene gas that speeds up wilting

Pruning and Post-Bloom Care

Gently remove the outer petals as they begin to fade, which keeps the remaining flower looking fresher and fuller. If some roses in the bouquet fully open and drop petals, move the still-healthy stems into a separate vase to extend their life by a few more days.
